FAQ

We have our process laid out in the “Building your Map” tab.

We designed our fee structure to be flexible and fit all types of clients and all types of budget & needs.  Thus, we offer a number of ways clients engage with us:

  1. Subscription Model: Whether we are managing your assets for you, or you are self-managing, we charge a monthly fee for access to a personalized Wealth Portal as well as direct access to our team for financial advice anytime. Our Navigator Passport Subscription Plans [make hyperlink to Navigator Passport page] are the best fit model for those who are not quite ready for full financial planning or the DIY-ers looking for occasional advice.  For this service, we can accept credit cards for payments.
  2. Hourly or Flat Fee Consultation/Financial Planning Model: Depending on the complexity of your situation, our flat fee is generally between $1500-3500 per plan.  Our hourly fee is $350.  For this service, we can accept credit cards for payments.
  3. AUM (Asset Under Management) Model: This is the most traditional way we get compensated. We typically charge between 1% to 1.5% per year.  This is determined by the amount of assets we manage – larger accounts equate to a lesser fee.  The AUM fee is accessed on a quarterly basis, ¼ of the annual fee each quarter.  Your statements will reflect net-of-fee returns.

The best way is to fill out the “Contact Us” form and a Navigator Advisers Team Member will reach out to you to schedule an initial consultation.

Yes, we are fiduciaries.  Unfortunately, the word “fiduciary” has been diluted to a buzzword by popular culture.  Ultimately, being a fiduciary comes down to the integrity, honor, and trustworthiness of the adviser.  At Navigator Advisers, we hold ourselves, our staff, and our advisers to these principles at all times in order to put our clients’ best interests first.

Our minimum account size is $100,000.  However, we strive to work with and help as many people as possible.  Although, we understand that not everyone is ready to work with a financial adviser or for financial advising.  If that is the case, we are happy to recommend other resources that can better provide support and ready them for future financial advising.  We also suggest the subscription or flat fee model for clients who want to have peace of mind regarding their financial plans without the need to meet this minimum.

We specialize in working with individuals, families, and small business owners who need financial planning focused on tax mitigation planning, retirement income planning, risk management, business planning and estate planning within the realm of financial advising.  We recommend reaching out to a qualified estate planning attorney for wills and trusts.

As a firm, we do not prepare taxes for clients (although some of our advisers can).  However, we do offer tax planning advice when necessary.  We believe that combining financial tax planning with a fantastic tax preparer, such as a CPA, it is possible to mitigate taxes efficiently while indirectly increasing returns.  We are happy to refer you to one of our tax preparation partners.

At this time, we cannot manage or advise on cryptocurrency as it is not yet an SEC regulated securities product.

We do not offer investments that are not SEC regulated securities products.

We are currently licensed to do business in 7 states: CA, FL, MN, MO, OR, PR, and WA.  However, on a case-by-case basis, we can obtain licenses in other states to best serve the needs of our clients.  Please note, we can only service clients based in the United States.

We want to make working with Navigator Advisers as easy and flexible as possible while providing you with quality services and products.  As our client, you receive access to your own personalized wealth management portal (256-bit encryption, two-factor sign-in authentication – just like the big banks), a team of financial professionals in various financial fields to help and give you advice on all your financial needs, as well as ongoing quarterly or annual reviews to ensure you are on track with your financial goals.

Our offices are open Monday through Friday between 9am to 6pm.  Appointments outside our business hours are scheduled at the discretion of each individual adviser.

Yes, we offer brokerage services for life, disability, long-term care insurances as well as annuities when we see the need through our comprehensive financial planning process.

We at Navigator Advisers strongly value the privacy and confidentiality of our clients, prospective clients, and contacts.  We will never sell your information, in part or in full.  We will always ask you for expressed written permission before we share your information with our trusted partners (i.e., CPAs, Attorneys, etc.) for the benefit of your financial plan.

We believe that timing the market is nearly impossible – as history has indicated.  Therefore, we firmly believe the best outcome can be achieved through strategic financial planning.  By building an investment strategy around your financial plan, it provides our clients with equanimity to help them to avoid panic selling in tough times.  This also means taking on no more risk than one can handle or is willing to lose or needing to take.  In doing so, instead of panic selling, our clients can rebalance their portfolios and buy lower valuation securities with a potential for higher expected returns.
